What is Time management?
The simple rule of time management is that either you run your day - or the day runs you.
Very simple.
We all have 24h on the clock, equally given to everyone that is fortunate to be alive. What you do with this time is entirely up to you. That is a big responsibility - so big that that we don’t really know how to use it effectively. The problem with that is that we take time for granted, we think that we have a lot of time to spare. But we don't really know how old we will be, we can be dead tomorrow. The value of time is the most real thing we have on this earth and yet we waste it completely. I will give you an example - social media. That's right, one of the biggest Phenomenon of the 21 century. We actually think that we are getting more humans meaning, that we share more quality time now compared to let's say 15-20 years ago. Studies show that depression has sky rocked this couple of years and most of it is linked to social media. We have become this half alive half dead creature, the ugly truth of this is that this will rob you in average almost 5.4 years. We are so wired to this world that we forget the real thing.
Not so long ago the social part was with our family, friends and neighbours. Our world was with them, the world was a lot smaller meaning that you only cared about the people around you. I’m not saying that social media is bad, but to much of anything is bad. Another example of wasting time is the most successful thief of all time - the Tv. That son of a B#### has robbed most people in the world of the most valuable currency known to mankind - TIME. You know in average the TV will rob you of 7.8 years in a lifetime. That is your time, time you will never get back,. It is gone forever.
I have a very interesting list about time consumption. We consume 7.8 years of Tv. Social media 5.4 years. Real socializing meaning face to face 1.3 years
Eating and drinking 3,5 years. Doing laundry 6 months. Here is some fun facts ... what can we do with 5.4 years ? You can walk your dog 93.000times, you can walk the great wall of china 3,5 times, or go to the moon and back 32 times.
That is why I’m going to devote 3 different sections of time management, to help balancing your life.
I can’t bring back the time you have lost, but what i can do is to help you balancing the time you have. Some say the we are victim of life but the way i see it is we are creators of it, we chose what type of life we want to have. Ask yourself this simple question, who is really stopping you from achieving what you what. If that person is yourself, bravo you now have the opportunity to do something about it. If you say that it’s somebody else stopping you, then you will always be a victim and you will never fully live you will only exist.
